Qualifications Getting Tougher

I am sure you are all aware that the Timeshare industry is not as lucrative as it was this time last year and the year before. With that being said, for those who still find themselves wanting to purchase a timeshare, or upgrade your existing ownership you will find it to be more difficult to qualify. Many of the major timeshare companies carry their own paper and make the loans themselves. Until the last 6 month, it has been known that ANYONE could qualify for a loan to purchase a timeshare. As I go throughout the blogs, forums, and other mediums and communicate with timeshare owners, one thing is definitely apparent. Lots of timeshare owners are like many of the citizens of this country that participated in the nationwide Tea-Party gatherings protesting higher taxes and ever expanding government yesterday. Timeshares in a Tough Economy

I have seen more posting on various question posting mediums concerning what to do with a timeshare during these extremely tough times. There has also been a variety of answers that seem to have little of no thought to them. I am sure many of you who own a timeshare know that the interest rates for timeshares are not the best. Especially if you have an average or below credit rating. The sad thing about this is that many are told during their timeshare presentation tour that they will be able to refinance or even better, get a home equity line of credit (HELOC). (more…)
