Wikipedia defines fraud as: In criminal law, fraud is the crime or offense of deliberately deceiving another in order to damage them ; usually, to obtain property or services unjustly. Fraud can be accomplished through the aid of forged objects. In the criminal law of common law jurisdictions it may be called “theft by deception,” “larceny by trick,” “larceny by fraud and deception,” or something similar.
Wikipedia defines misrepresentation as: A contract law concept. It means a false statement of fact made by one party to another party, which has the effect of inducing that party into the contract. For example, under certain circumstances, false statements or promises made by a seller of goods regarding the quality or nature of the product that the seller has may constitute misrepresentation. A finding of misrepresentation allows for a remedy of rescission and sometimes damages depending on the type of misrepresentation.
Many timeshare sales reps use this to create an atmosphere of loss in their clients. The way to do this is to tell then that they missed a Transition Event or a dinner party that was meant to train, educate and allow timeshare owners to receive unheard of discounts and additions to their account. Although most do have dinner parties, there is no such thing as a Transition Event. Again, this is just a sales technique to make the buyer think that they missed an opportunity. Once the sales rep has you convinced of this, they can then fight for you and get your Transition Event options back. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
