Shortly after retiring from the Navy I went to work for a Timeshare Company in the Nashville area. I quickly found out the industry was full of individuals who do not care about their clients. I tried several different ways to be able to sell timeshare packages to existing owners and non-owners. What disturbed me was the industry is not set up for the core values I have had ingrained in me for the past 20 plus years of military service. I had a difficult time showing a couple why they needed to go in to major debt to secure their vacations for them and their children for a lifetime. As I did my research, it seemed almost every owner I had dealt with had negative experiences with their sales representatives. The sales reps claimed they would be an advocate or counselor, and would assist in any type of rental needs the perspective owner needed. Additionally, the tricks of not attending a “transition event” or a “dinner party” were reasons for owners to go $15,000 to $75,000 further in debt.

After being miserable for a long period of time and countless sleepless nights, I decided to leave the industry, and I feel Timeshare Advocacy International, LLC can be an asset to owner’s who have fallen in to similar situations. Additionally, for those owners who enjoy what they have, but do not want to be taken advantage of in the future, we are here to coach you so you can be an empowered owner. Lastly, you might be interested in making an investment or know someone who is getting ready to do the same, we are here to ensure you know what to expect and how to maximize your purchase. I in no way claim to know it all, but I have been successful in sales and helping the owners I had in maximizing their ownership. My goal is to give you an honest opinion of what you have or are going to encounter from the point of view of someone who was in the industry. I want to give you an inside look at what you can do to either recover from possible misrepresentation and fraud, or what you will encounter from a sales shark and the different levels of management.

A Note From the Founder of TAI.

My name is Sean Austin and I am the Founder, President and CEO of Timeshare Advocacy International, LLC.

TAI is a consumer rights based organization that has focused solely on the timeshare industry. Thank you for giving me a few minutes of your time.

Having served in the US Navy for 21 years, the core values of Honor, courage, and commitment are very near and dear to my heart. Upon entering civilian life, I became a timeshare sales rep. As you can read in my biography, this was a low point during my professional career and I was extremely miserable to say the least.

I started TAI knowing that misled timeshare consumers needed to have their story heard. After all, the industry was and continues to run amuck.

When TAI started over two years ago, there was only one other entity providing similar services. That company has since filed for bankruptcy. Today there are over 20 companies that claim to do what we do. Some of these upstarts make what we believe to be unsubstantiated claims. Some state that they have helped over 3000 clients, some claim that they have been in business for over 5 years and have a 100% success rate. Some even claim to offer a 100% money back guarantee. Some of these companies have well designed websites with the Scales of Justice and a judge’s gavel. Some even quote scripture with the hopes of luring you in. What stands out like a sore thumb with these companies is that none of them have any points of contact listed on their site.

Who are the owners and personnel behind these companies and what are they hiding from? Many of these companies were formed overseas, or in states that you cannot find out who the owners are. There is another company in particular who is owned by an attorney that TAI retained the services of. TAI gave this attorney access to our entire business model as well as every document that we had at the time. This attorney was even our registered agent in the state of Florida. Two weeks after serving TAI with a disengagement letter this attorney now claims to be an expert in the field and claims to do what we do.

TAI is the only site that seamlessly and proudly tells you who we are and what we do. We have nothing to hide and I believe you must seriously take this into consideration prior to deciding to go with any other company. Be very cautious about who are you doing business with…..after all, you get what you pay for. Let me be the first to tell you that we cannot help everyone and we have had to refund fees due to some of our clients not getting their contract canceled. That’s right, we do not have a 100% success rate and we have never claimed to have one.
